We were getting ready for our evening shift

to welcome and serve our diners

at the restaurant

On Thursday 8th September 2022,

And As the day was coming to an end,

And with it the sobering news

of the death of our Queen.

It seemed impossible that she could be gone –

she had been such a fixture in our lives for so long.

But as the sun began to set,

Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming her death.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was no more.

The news hit hard.

For many of us, she was the only queen we had ever known.

She was a symbol of strength and stability

in a world that often seemed unpredictable.

As we reflect on her life and legacy,

let us also remember all the wonderful things she did for us.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was a devoted wife.

And she was a fearless leader

who always put others before herself.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered as

one of the greatest monarchs in history.

And she will be deeply missed by all.

Your legacy will live on forever.

Thank you for everything.

You will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Your Majesty.

You will never be forgotten.
